On the 9th October 2012, Serpentine Camping Centre successfully achieved Accreditation approval with the National Accommodation, Recreation & Tourism Accreditation (“NARTA”). Serpentine Camping Centre is the first not for profit Camping Centre in Western Australia to be nationally accredited.
NARTA provides a process for checking and providing recognition of compliance with relevant legal operational requirements. It is an ongoing process that requires us to regularly review our compliance regime in line with changing community attitudes and legislative changes. Accreditation is accomplished through self-assessment and both desk and workplace audits.
What this will do for Serpentine is ensure we are being measured for compliance independently and will meet the requirements of external organisations that choose to limit their participation to “Accredited” operations, which is becoming mandatory is most States.
This was all achieved by the staff at Serpentine, who put in a great deal of time and effort to provide the required documentation and process for the site and this is why we passed first time round.
