Baptist Camps have been running at Serpentine for over 30 years! Over that time they have been significant in the lives of many people by helping shape and grow their faith while connecting them with like-minded people, with whom many form lifelong friendships.
Where are Baptist Camps held?
Baptist Camps are held at Serpentine Camping Centre in the foothills of Perth just off South Western Highway. It is a dorm based residential campsite, meaning that campers sleep in dorms which contain up to 8 people. The campsite is fully catered and is well equipped for Baptist Camps, with various facilities for activities on-site.

So what are Baptist Camps and how do they work?
The camps are normally five days long and operate twice a year – in the July School Holidays and the Christmas Holidays (December – January). Baptist Camps aim to cater for school students from Year 4 to Year 12 by running three camps – Juniors (School Years 4-6), Inters (Years 7-9), and Seniors (Years 10-12).
The camps are operated from a Christian basis and aim to help children and young people develop their faith and what it means to follow Jesus in their lives and world. This happens primarily through meetings, worship, Bible talks, and discussions in small groups.
Simultaneously, the camps are full of age appropriate activities and events aimed at providing the campers with a great camp full of fun, activities, and opportunities to build friendships. The campsite has a gym where a variety of games and sports can be played, a 21m swimming pool which is great for cooling off in summer, a grassed football oval, tennis courts, and lots of open space for games, wide games, and other activities. The campsite is also equipped with a range of challenge courses, a low ropes courses, and a climbing wall. There are also meeting rooms, a dining room, and other areas for activities.
The camps are run by a group of volunteer leaders who all hold a Working with Children Card, a Volunteer National Police Clearance, and have all completed the Safe Church training program. There are some leaders with specific roles such as first aid/nurse, life guards, camp speaker, camp parents, and camp directors, and also a group of leaders who run the activities and events on camp. All leaders supervise the dorms of campers.
